Word of Mouth – The Raid 2: Berandal Might Very Well Be One of the Best Action Films Ever Made, Says All The People I Hate Who Already Got To See It

The-Raid-2-Berandal-Word-of-Mouth

During my annual most anticipated films of the year list for the site, I made what I believed to be a controversial decision for the number one choice.  I gave it to The Raid 2: Berandal, the foreign action movie starring exactly zero big name actors and NOT based on a comic book of some sort.  At the time I thought I might have been rash to chose it as my most anticipated film of 2014 but, the more we’ve seen of the sequel, the more confident I’ve become that my decision was a sound one.  All the trailers have been golden so far and, following the promise of the last film, I couldn’t be more excited to see the continued adventures of Rama amplified to much, much bigger heights.  Now the first word out of the Sundance screening for the film has arrived and…well, I’ll sum it up in the only way possible: Holy.  Fucking.  Shit.

I expected good things to come from the first reactions to the film but, wow—this is insane.  Granted it could just be festival enthusiasm rearing its ugly head, but I literally could not find a single tweet from those who’ve seen the film that had ANYTHING bad to say about it at all.  In fact, most of the below tweets are hyperbolic as hell—or maybe spot on the money, which might be the most exciting factor of it all.  Here are all the reactions I could dig up :

My penis can only get so erect, Twitter.  Come now.

The Raid 2: Berandal will hit theaters in March, in which most of us “normals” will finally get our chance to see it.  And by “normals,” I mean people who most likely live in New York and Los Angeles.  Man, this wait might literally kill me.
