With the release of the teaser poster on Monday and the official synopsis a week ago, it doesn’t take a genius to get that Paramount is prepping the advertising campaign for Star Trek Into Darkness with full force. We know that a full length trailer will be attached to regular prints of The Hobbit next week, and that a 9 minute sneak peek will be attached to IMAX prints of the film. But before that, we’ll be getting our first official look at the film in an online only teaser trailer which, according to Simon Pegg, will be hitting the internet this Thursday.
The trailer was first rumored to come out on Thursday by TrekMovie, and later confirmed by Pegg over on his Twitter:
So yeah, what a great time to be a Star Trek fan. New posters, TWO new trailers, and a full eight minute, glorious IMAX film sneak peek. What’s not to like? Chances are the film will go into black out money after this until Spring 2013 though, so I guess you should take what you can get now well you have it.
Just in case you forgot, here’s the synopsis:
